its very cold at the moment. i’ve put my dog’s coat on him and given him some warm water but he still seems very cold. it has never been this cold before. so i put a fluffy sheet over him and he seems to be getting on okay. do dogs like that? why do dogs sleep without blankets on anyway?
thx

Yes. My sisters dog (my late nephew) used to love to get under the covers. He would even go so far as to arrange pillows on the bed for comfort and cover himself until he was nice and cozy. It would be the funniest thing to see, him fussing with the pillows and covers. It was extra funny because he is a small long haired dog
Yes. dogs like blankets. My dog cuddles up under the blanket all the time. And he has even got to were he will put his whole body under the blanket to keep the light out of his eyes. I’m no expert, but I think they are just like we are when it comes to temperature. Unless of course your dog has a really thick dog coat.
So give your dog a blanket, and he will be comfortable and warm.
FOR MY DOG WHENEVER I PUT A SHEET ON HIM HE JUST BITES IT AND TEARS IT. SOME DOGS LIKE IT SOME DOGS DONT. DOGS HAVE FUR THATS THEIR “BLANKET”
i don’t know why some dogs sleep without blankets.
my maltese for example loves sleeping under the blanket when it gets too cold for him. mind you i am a cold sensitive person so maybe i have nursed this habit but i find that he does like sleeping under the blanket when it gets too cold. my silky on the other hand does not like it! she rather run around until she is warm and needs to cool down! she is a bit hyper.
i wouldn’t see why it would be such a bad thing to have him under the blanket if he stays there and wants to be there.
My own little doggie loved a blanket over her and of course she slept with me, so she was even warmer. But she never seemed to mind, in fact, I think she loved being on my bed with me as she took up most of the bed anyway. So I believe dogs love blankets (if it’s cold) because they love to be warm.
Yes and no.. My mutt loves to be under the blankets with me and cuddle in. But my lab likes to be on top of the comforter, on the floor or on her pillow.. She has to have a pillow of some sort.
Some dogs do and some dont. Only 1 out of my 4 dogs likes blankets. She sleeps under the covers.
Both of my dogs love sleeping under the blankets. They will nudge me until I cover them. I have to hold the blanket for awhile while my one dog circles and circles, then he plops down and I cover him.
You bet they do. I had a dog that would steal the other dogs blanket even though he had his own. Pull it out of the other dogs crate and into his. Then look quite happy about it. The one I have now loves to get under a blanket. If you try to pull the blanket off the bed slowly he will crawl to stay under it…
My dogs loves to be covered up in the winter. As a matter of fact they even like having their heads covered up as well. They all have their own blankets which are simply throws that are usually used to cover up while in your living room watching TV!!!
It’s normal for dogs to like blankets, people like soft matresses right? , well dogs like soft surfaces too. They tend to dig under blankets, sheets or pillows and build like a little fortress for themselves. This is normal but if your dog is excessively shivering or cold then you may want to have her checked out just to be safe.
